Denver, 11th October 2024 - IQGeo, a developer of geospatial software that is “Building better networks” for telecom and utility operators, today announced the winners of its Americas Customer and Partner Innovation Awards. This years’ winners for the Americas region are, Bolivar Energy Authority, Conterra Networks, Cox Communications, Fibersmith, LG&E and KU, and Lightpath. The IQGeo Innovation Awards recognize the contribution outstanding software project deployments make to delivering broadband digital equity and creating a greener energy future for communities around the world.
IQGeo has been honoring customers and partners with its Innovation Awards for the last six years and this years’ awards for the Americas were presented on October 10th at the IQGeo Americas Meetup in Denver. Three telecommunication companies, two utility companies, and one ecosystem partner were selected for their exceptional project and technology innovation using the IQGeo network and workflow management software.
Winner: Bolivar Energy Authority
Name: Optimizing field operations
Integrated field operations are critical to the efficient and safe management of any electrical utility grid and Bolivar Energy Authority have focused on this integration with impressive results. Using IQGeo’s mobility capabilities they rapidly created operational workflows to support their field crews and worked closely to ensure successful adoption. They are operational with a range of workflows that address planned and unplanned maintenance, creating efficient tasks for field engineers that are connect with back office functions. Winner: Conterra Networks
Name: Constantly innovating
The Conterra Networks team demonstrates the spirit of constant innovation through the ongoing adoption of IQGeo technology and integration with other systems and data sources. Their vision extends across all stages of the network lifecycle including the use of Network Manager Telecom as their strategic system of record and use cases to improve planning, design, and field operations. Most recently they’ve deployed IQGeo’s Network Revenue Optimizer software with a Salesforce integration to accelerate fiber network adoption and maximize revenue.
Winner: Cox Communications
Name: Focusing on automation
One of IQGeo’s long-standing customers, Cox Communications has used IQGeo’s mobility software for years to support field operations and continue to expand their deployment into new use cases. As a innovation partner, the Cox requirements are a catalyst for IQGeo’s future software development roadmap as they automate new processes across their network lifecycle. With an increased focus on customer adoption and the monetization of their HFC and fiber network, the Cox team is working with IQGeo to define automation strategies that take full advantage of their extensive network investment.
Winner: Fibersmith
Name: Enabling efficiency at scale
Fibersmith is an IQGeo technology and Certified Design Partner that is being recognized for the integration of its “Vision” location-based software with the IQGeo software environment. Vision uses IQGeo's APIs to leverage physical plant records to improve operational efficiencies for broadband companies. Providing a detailed understanding of the fiber connectivity path, Vision enables automation with key hardware and network management suppliers to streamline customer turn-ups, service upgrades, suspensions and more.
Winner: LG&E and KU
Name: Expanding operational benefits
Originally employing the IQGeo software for gas inspection, LG&E and KU have significantly extended the depth and breadth of their operational applications and dramatically expanded the geographic footprint. Their innovative use cases now include electrical utility field inspection and maintenance, and are working with IQGeo to enhance outage response and management to address increasingly severe environmental incidents. Their technology strategy is delivering greater operational benefits across the entire business.
Winner: Lightpath
Name: Modernizing the fiber network model
With the successful migration from a legacy GIS infrastructure to the IQGeo fiber network model, Network Manager Telecom is established as the foundation for Lightpath’s vision to build a single integrated lifecycle solution for their business. Engaged adoption of the IQGeo software in field and office use cases has seen the completion of the initial phases of their deployment strategy. The Lightpath team is now working in collaboration with IQGeo to plan future technology phases including projects to accelerate customer adoption of their broadband network services.
