IQGeo announces winners of 2019 Customer Innovation Awards

Cambridge, 21st November 2019 – IQGeo (AIM: IQG), developer of mobile-first geospatial software for the telecommunications and utility industries, has recognized three of its customers for outstanding innovation in the use of IQGeo software. The winners of the inaugural 2019 IQGeo Customer Innovation Awards are Cox Communications, Comporium Communications and MDU Resources.

Announced at the annual IQGeo Meetup held in Denver, the awards scheme was set up to recognize outstanding innovation in the deployment and use of IQGeo software and the quantifiable business benefits that it brings to the winning companies.

Winner: Cox Communications

Cox Communications is one of IQGeo’s longest standing customers and has implemented many applications on the IQGeo platform that are solving critical business issues across the enterprise. IQGeo’s software is used every day by more than 5,000 Cox employees. The judges highlighted one of the most recent application deployments, Cox’s Portable Generator Tracking and Refueling. Built on IQGeo’s platform, it assists in restoration efforts during natural disasters by improving the way Cox tracks and manages portable gas generators during these critical response events.

Winner: Comporium Communications

The team at Comporium are using IQGeo’s software in a variety of different ways and developed a range of strategic business use cases for customer retention and product expansion. The telecoms’ PNM integration and thematic mapping analytics, which is delivering benefits across marketing and sales, were highlighted by the judges as great examples of forward thinking that have improved operational efficiency and departmental collaboration.

Winner: MDU Resources

When it comes to digital transformation in the gas industry, the judges agreed that MDU Resources is leading the way. The utility’s use of IQGeo software has completely revolutionised the way it collects data, automating and digitizing processes to eradicate the use of paper in field data collection. This has saved huge amounts of time, particularly when it comes to regulatory reporting, and helps MDU to maintain a reliable and resilient network, meet regulatory compliance obligations, and provide a safer gas network for all their customers.

Richard Petti, CEO at IQGeo said: “Every year the IQGeo Meetup gets bigger and better, showcasing some amazing use cases for our technology and providing a fantastic forum for customers, partners and prospects to meet and discuss their business challenges. It is therefore the perfect place to announce the winners of our, first ever, IQGeo Customer Innovation Awards. We are really pleased to present awards to these very worthy winners, each displaying unique and creative ways of using our technology to help improve productivity and collaboration. I am very proud of the success that these ‘change makers’ have achieved in transforming the reliability, efficiency and safety of the telecommunications and utilities networks that we all depend on every day.

“This year the winners were all from North America, but with many recent customer wins in Japan and across Europe, I fully expect to see a more international flavour to these innovation awards in years to come.”

The winners were announced at the end of the first day at the 2019 IQGeo Meetup, which saw more than a 100 people from utilities and telecommunications gather to discuss industry trends, business challenges, and to collaborate with their peers. As well as customer presentations and keynotes from industry thought leaders, there were also demonstrations of operational systems, breakout sessions, and insight into IQGeo's product roadmap.
